You might not often wander around the 12th arrondissement in Paris outside of Cour St Emilion but this place is a really good reason to walk off the beaten tracks.
For once in Paris, you can get large meals for a reasonable price with an excellent service, enough to be noticed !
Everything in the Janissaire was great : the service, the atmosphere and the meals.
You will be welcome with a smile as the waiters take care of your coat. Please make sure you book in advance if you plan to have dinner there, as it is very popular among locals and Turkish families, which is a good sign.
On the menu, you will find the traditional boreks, savoury filo-based pastries filled with cheese, and a large choice of meals from lamb to stuffed aubergines, whether you are a meat eater or a vegetarian.
The Turkish bread is delicious ! And if you still have some appetite for a dessert, the rose loukoums are worth a try. They are just perfect, not too sweet.
