This weekend don’t miss the Fête des Vendanges in Montmartre !
The neighbourhood has its own vineyard, Le Clos Montmartre, and it is now time to celebrate the yearly harvest. Every year, this gives an opportunity for a large celebration of the whole neighbourhood.
This year, the event is sponsored by Melanie Thierry and Raphael, French actress and singer. Various countries will be celebrated throughout these few days, as the planet is the theme of the year.
The celebrations have just started this Wednesday with a large buffet offering food from different countries.
On Thursday, some of you might have already enjoyed a singing evening at the Trois Baudets with lyrical singers singing different songs around the vineyard theme.
If not, you might have heard of a Bordeaux wine tasting to present the soon to open in Bordeaux Cité des civilisations du vin, a new museum featuring the history of wine throughout civilizations.
This Saturday, the meeting point will definitely be the Sacré Coeur to watch the beautiful fireworks.
There will also be a large march showcasing various Montmartre organizations and inhabitants with a true Montmartre ambassador : the Queen of the Vendanges dressed up in recycled fabric from the Anvers aux Abbesses artist association.
La Recyclerie, which has become a major meeting point in the area, will also organize an anti-waste day with menus to avoid any waste.
Finally don’t miss the “Cosmos-polite” ball on square Louise Michel to dance the Parisian waltz or Brasilian Samba.
