If you are looking for an affordable hotel in Paris in a peaceful environment, Le Quartier Bercy might be what you are looking for.
Although it is not in the most sought-after neighbourhood, such as the Marais or Opera, it is still within easy reach, thanks to the nearby metro lines : line 6 at Dugommier, line 8 at Daumesnil and line 14 at Bercy.
Those lines will take you directly to Charles de Gaulle Etoile, Bir-Hakeim for the Eiffel tower and Champs-Elysees, or to Madeleine, near the main department stores and the Opera.
The main asset of this hotel is its courtyard. I could easily sit there for hours surrounded by greenery and the sound of birds.
The breakfast setting under the veranda is lovely too.
The breakfast is continental, similar to what you will find in most hotel chains, with a nice basket of French viennoiseries and jams.
As for the room, it remains simple but user-friendly. And you can be sure you won’t hear any road traffic but the birds when you open the windows in the morning.
If you are also looking for a place to go for a run or a picnic, bear in mind that you are only a few minutes away from the huge bois de Vincennes, much nicer for a walk than the famous Tuileries gardens.
